The Pyzel Mini Ghost surfboard arises from the work between the shaper Jon Pyzel and the surfer Koa Smith, who has a predilection for surfing on boards as small as possible, with the aim of shortening the size (but not the performance) of his favorite model, the Pyzel Ghost.
Koa was looking for a board that was smaller than their Ghost but just as functional for small to medium days on the North Shore, so they started by taking 4 inches off the Ghost, going from a 5'9" to a 5 ´5", and adding volume to give it the necessary buoyancy, entry into the wave and stability during paddling, so the outline of the board was quite modified; being now wider, flatter and with thicker edges, with a nose also enlarged in volume and surface.
Although the mini ghost is 4 inches less than the ghost, its volume is almost identical, with the first having 28.70L, while a ghost XL has 28.80L. The tail of the board has also been retouched, since in the mini ghost it is round and wider, making the board more fun in less powerful or smaller waves.
In short; It is a board that at first sight seems to be taken from the 80's, but with all the features of today's high performance boards. Designed for advanced level surfers, its forgiving characteristics make it a board suitable for beginners as well, as it is a board that is undoubtedly easy to ride.
If you're considering purchasing this, keep in mind that it's meant to be mounted 3/4-inches shorter than your reference board.
