Hot Knife is the combination of two very popular models (Peri Peri and Stepdown 2) resulting in a design that can only be described as the most complete all rounder. This model was tried and tested by rider Jay Davies. An easy board to surf and friendly in all conditions.
Outline: Classic and slightly wider in the middle and front of a shortboard. Its main characteristic is a slight hip or break at the height of the lateral fins. This allows for a straighter outline towards the tail, enhancing throw speed. At the same time, it presents a slightly wider round square tail that complements the speed of the hip or break with stability and prediction of turns.
Rocker: medium on entry and smooth bordering on flat on exit. The goal is to get enough cornering speed to be able to make adjustments between turns.
Contours: Based on the beloved Peri Peri model. Single concave across the nose, double concave between both feet and vee at the far end of the board. This combo generates great speed off the take off, friendly rail-to-rail transitions, and a sense of control when making your turns.
Performance: This model stands out for 2 main aspects: First, a flat tail rocker with a vee finish that promotes continuous and friendly speed in rail-to-rail transitions. Second, the hip or break in the outline makes it a board with very good projection and reactivity to the back foot. All in all, the Hot Knife maintains its speed and responds with a sense of predictability and control that makes ordinary day-to-day sessions very pleasant.
