James Cheal has worked with several surfers running the WSL Qualifying Series. A difficult tour that usually has small and mediocre waves. Thus VOLUME II was born. A performance model to attack these conditions.
After several discussions and analysis of heats run in small sea conditions, we slowly modified the Spawn and developed Volume II. This model is fast, with good projection and stands out in waves between 0.30m and 1.2m. Volume II has been tried and tested around the world on beaches like Sydney, California, Indonesia, Hawaii and Japan.
Contours: Single concave from 12cm from the nose to just before the side fins. It then has a mild double concave (for looseness and spark) between the side fins and ends in single concave again at the tail end. This table is fast!
Rocker: normal entry and flat exit.
Outline: very smooth, without breaks or hips to offer a smooth performance.
Volume: Sits centrally well below the chest to optimize paddling and has medium to low rails for performance.
Mitch weighs 83kg. I used the 5´8 in stock measurements (see below). His everyday shortboard, the A2 he wore in 5'10 x 18 ¾ x 2 3/8 in 27L.
We suggest you take it 1-3 inches shorter than your everyday shortboard.
